Piracy

The Product Piracy Act and the EU-Product Piracy Regulation apply to the fight against piracy (i.e. the distribution of counterfeit products) by customs officials. These include customs measures against products, which are suspected of infringing intellectual property rights. Such products may be detained, and in certain circumstances, destroyed, upon request and ex officio at the external border of the EU (e.g. Vienna Airport)
